Hitoko Okada is a queer, nikkei, fibre artist, craft researcher, independent curator and storyteller. Her work currently explores the culture and geopolitics of Japanese bast fibre plants as they relate to the histories of fast fashion, and how ancestral knowledge is archived in embodied practices of Japanese heritage textile folk crafts.
